PROVIDING A SAFE HAVEN FOR CHILDREN IN NEED

There are currently 23 brave girls who have fled from their homes in an effort to continue their education, instead of being given away for an early marriage.  They are “protected,” by the government, but are forced to live away from their families. They have many needs that range from food, clothing, maxi-pads, to scholarships so that they can continue their education past the 8th grade.  If they do not get sponsorship, they face having to return home and being sold to marriage in exchange for livestock.

Safehouse needs:

  • $150 / month — Daily Care.  Provides these 28 girls with two meals a day, sheets/blankets, laundry soap, shoe polish and maxi-pads
  • $600 / year — Scholarship Fund — to continue secondary education (grades 9-12)
